Giant Titan LED Display for Heidelberg Materials
London Electronics Ltd continues to set new standards in large-format digital signage with the successful delivery of a 4m x 4m vehicle marshalling display for Heidelberg Materials. This project demonstrates our ability to design and manufacture robust, innovative systems that not only enhance operational efficiency but also support the highest standards of safety and communication in demanding industrial environments.
The brief required a display large enough to be seen clearly across a busy port-side site, providing critical information to drivers, operators, and management in real time. Our solution was a bespoke, Titan LED technology display, engineered to present alphanumeric text, safety messaging, and dynamic vehicle marshalling instructions with outstanding clarity. At a full 4 metres square, the display ensures that essential details such as mix status, vehicle movement information, and hazard warnings are unmissable – even at significant distances and in challenging weather conditions.
Durability was a central requirement. Located near the port, the system needed to withstand harsh atmospheric conditions including salt-laden air, constant vibration from heavy vehicle traffic, and year-round exposure to the elements. Constructed with industrial-grade materials, sealed housings, and long-life LED modules, the Titan display offers exceptional reliability and longevity, minimising downtime and protecting operational continuity.
A key innovation in this installation is our new VC Wireless Transmission System. This cutting-edge technology allows dynamic data to be sent directly from the control hub to the display over distances of up to 600 metres, with no signal loss or latency. For Heidelberg Materials, this means real-time updates can be broadcast instantly and securely to the marshalling display, streamlining vehicle coordination and ensuring safe, efficient site operations.
Visibility and communication are at the heart of the design. With ultra-bright, high-contrast LEDs and intelligent brightness control, the Titan system delivers crystal-clear readability in direct sunlight, low light, or poor weather. This makes it an invaluable tool for both safety messaging and operational instructions, ensuring all drivers and site staff remain informed at all times.
