Totaliser with ASCII data input
The problem...
In some weighing applications, it's useful to be able to add batches, to get a total weight.
For example, a cement factory weighs each bag of cement, but only counts the total number of bags. They want to know the total weight of cement.
They could multiply the bag weight by the number of bags, but this is not accurate, because the bag weight can vary by a small amount.
The solution...
We developed a digital panel meter which takes serial data from the existing weighing display. When each bag is filled, a contact closure tells us to record the weight of the bag. We add this weight to a total value.

The benefit of this system is that we add the true weight of every bag to the total. The accuracy is excellent.
This system is also available on our Large Digit displays. Here's a simple example showing a crane, with a display to show actual lift weight, and accumulated total weight of all lifts since the display was reset.
Based on P17XX or L17XX weight display, with RS422 data to an S17XX-TOT display.
